Death doulas offer compassionate support at the end of life

You may be familiar with a birth doula—someone who supports new life entering the world. A death doula offers the same kind of care, presence, and sacred companionship as life draws to a close.

The word doula comes from the Greek for “one who serves.” That’s what I do. I serve as a steady presence for those facing the end of life—whether because of a terminal diagnosis, advanced age, or other circumstances.

This work isn’t about fixing or curing.

It’s about walking beside you, holding space, and making sure you’re not alone.

Your journey begins with a 30-minute Zoom or phone call, which may include the person nearing end of life and/or their loved ones. I’ll listen deeply to your story and offer ideas tailored to your needs.

If it feels like a good fit, we’ll schedule an in-person visit. That visit includes:

  • Compassionate conversation

  • A review of my services

  • Creation of our mutual covenant (yes, it’s a contract—but I prefer covenant, because this is sacred work)

From there, I offer a range of customizable services based on your needs and circumstances:

Presence

I offer respite care to allow caregivers time to rest, or I can simply be there to hold space, listen, and bring comfort during this tender time.

Final wishes and funeral planning

Let’s take care of the unfinished details—whether it’s:

  • Writing your obituary

  • Canceling social media accounts

  • Coordinating with clergy or celebrants

  • Making funeral and memorial plans

I’ll help tie up loose ends so you can rest peacefully.

Legacy Projects

Want to create something meaningful to leave behind?
From letters and journals to art, photography, and recordings—we can build a personal legacy that speaks to who you are.

Peaceful death planning

We’ll co-create a peaceful environment together:

  • What music soothes your soul?

  • Who should be by your side?

  • Where do you want to be?

Every detail matters—and you deserve a say in all of it.

Vigil sitting

No one should die alone—or in pain.
I will sit vigil with you or your loved one, ensuring the space is gentle, loving, and safe.

Grief support

I offer emotional and spiritual support for loved ones—before, during, and after a death. Grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Who I work with

I work with people of all backgrounds—of any or no faith tradition. Whether you're spiritual, secular, or still figuring it out, I bring open-hearted, nonjudgmental support.

While I’m not an animal person (sorry!), your beloved pets can absolutely stay in the home—I’ll just need a little space.

If you or someone you love could benefit from sacred, non-medical end-of-life support, let’s connect.

Sometimes the first step is simply saying hello.
